“You just — need — to push,” Arcana Defender Fortitude grunts angrily.

“We’ve been pushing!” Arcana Defender Temperance says piteously. “Pushing and pushing and I’m all sweaty and it won’t go and I’m squashing you, I can hear all the breath getting knocked out of you and I’m worried about hurting you—”

“You’re the idiot who wanted to do this in your stupidly tiny import compact car that you only have because you’re a turbo weeb,” Fortitude snarls. “Now give it a goddamn shove! We’re fitting it in if it kills me!”

“What the heck are you two doing,” Arcana Defender Chariot says. “We can hear you grunting and swearing at each other from all the way upstairs — what. What the heck. Why do you have that sticking out—”

“I measured it!” Temperance says, in a lip-trembling way. “It ought to go!”

“Honey, it’s a couch,” Chariot says. “Furniture is never the size the tape measure says, the universe lies to torment us. Why are we crushing Fortitude to death on your back seat with it?”

“She said it would go if she tilted it from underneath while I push!” Temperance wails.
