Cohost writing prompt: @Making-up-Mech-Pilots — Mech Pilot who styles them self as an entrepreneur, and has equipped their Mech with a shipping container wherein lies their store

"What the hell have you done to your ride, Janda?"

Two heavy-duty cantilevered fins have been added to the battered machine's shoulder armatures. Across its back, suspended from them, is a standard shipping container, paint muddy-coloured and flaking with age, whatever logo was once stencilled on the side unreadable.

Janda flashes a sunny smile, and punches some remote commands into her pocketphone; the mech sinks smoothly into a squat, the container's doors swing hydaulically open, and a gangplank winches down from the open doorway to bridge the couple of feet up to it. Lights flicker on inside, gleaming on banks of lockers and hanging nets of what looks like mil-surplus uniforms.

Times are rough since the big ceasefire, not to mention the brewing talk of banning privately operated mech-scale combat vehicles; but this is—

"C'mon, step right up," Janda says. "Pilot has wares, if you have coin!"

"Oh, fuck you, seriously?"
