This, Too, is Yuri 201

Cohost writing prompt: @Making-up-Mech-Pilots — Mech Pilot who’s recovering from M1P1, a zoonotic flu caught from sleeping in your Cockpit

"Alright everyone, welcome back! I hope you all had a nice break over the high holy days, and you haven't completely forgotten how to take notes in class. This semester we'll be covering the Hanahaki Pandemic Event, which as I'm sure you all remember from grade school history, ultimately extincted one-third of the then-extant human species, and introduced significant netsplits in galactic communication, on a timescale which resulted in multiple epihuman speciation branches before being fully rectified.

"Along the way, we'll be tackling the historiography of the classical account of the Event's origin; many of you will be familiar with some pop-history version of it — a single zoonotic infection between partnered mech pilots.

"Some of you will find the subject track more challenging during this module — we're all accustomed to more subject overlap with Human Emotivity and History of Mech Warfare than Epidemiology! As always, do the reading, my office hours are posted if you're struggling, but most importantly: trust me, it's not so different from the material we've covered so far—

"This, too, is Yuri."
